King Arthur - The Roleplaying Wargame Wiki

King Mark is the rightful King of Dumnonia and the second recruitable Knight for King Arthur's Round Table. King Mark will join Arthur's Round Table after you defeat Sir Glais, King Idres' Knight in the quest "Help King Mark." King Mark is a Rightful Knight and less of an Ideal choice for a Tyrant player.

Seeing as he is a King it is likely that King Mark was present when Arthur pulled the sword from the stone.

Usage & Strategy:[]

King Mark is an interesting Champion, since his personal Dragon Strike skill is similar to Cleave but has a fixed effect and range. Since it doesn't appear to be affected by his Fight score, it seems to be stronger than Cleave in the early game and should be maxed immediately, followed by Guardian Angel. This combination allows for devastating cavalry charges while taking little to no harm on his unit.

After Dragon Strike is maxed and Guardian Angel raised to a satisfactory level, the passive buffs of Enchanted Equipment and Armour of Faith are worth getting. Cleave should be avoided, since it essentially duplicates Dragon Strike. Invisible Shield is always worth a look as one of the few counters to enemy archers. Breathstealer offers a rare self-healing option, definitely worth considering on a high-damage melee hero like King Mark.

His Precise trait makes him a decent ruler, but he should be temporarily removed from fiefdoms where you anticipate recruitment, due to the crippling penalty from Benevolent.

Viperswhip[]

Viperswhip here, I have an alternate build for him, and I only plan for endgame

King Mark is an interesting case, he starts with 1 in guardian Angel, 1 in Armour of the Faith and 1 in Dragon Strike. Dragon Strike is magic damage, it will hurt undead, but sucks balls against the Seelie/UnSeelie and even just general Welsh units and Giants. Seelie and Undead are your two endgame enemies thus I do not build Dragon Strike is a wasted Skill point, but at level 4, it's not too bad.

He is a champion, he is meant to do one thing, and that is damage (and survive)

Once you get Sidhe Roads, Cleave and Guardian Angel take up 3 spots, Dragon Strike is not a worth 4th, Last Stand, Healing (one of his general skills) are better. Why? Because he will be in command of units with a lot of HP, either Summerborn or Seelie Warriors (preferably). They have big HP pools and you can heal them back to full, not that they take a ton of damage if you build him properly. In any case, I like Healing or Rage for him, Last Stand is fine, but it fades as you build him, the bonus just isn't super compelling after you have maxed his other skills. Breathstealer only keeps him alive, but it does a wonderful job of that, not as good as healing though, which you can also use on other units.

I suggest 4 Armor of Faith, 4 Guardian Angel, 4 Rage, 4 Cleave, 4 Mighty Blow, 4 Swift Attack, 4 of your alt. I do generally choose Rage, you will burn through enemies, lasts a decent amount of time and can also be cast on another unit, if say you are too far out of the fight and Sidhe Roads is on cooldown.

1-4(late game) Sidhe Roads (the units  you attach have Pathwalker). Get him a spell weaving artifact and he will be able to do this for the whole fight, I did once test this against an entire cavalry army, who attacked my stronghold. I ported right to the outside wall, against it and kind of off to the side, with my Seelie warriors and was continually able to cast my spells. Stack cooldown, spellweaving and as much fight and magic as you can get.

So, Rage or Healing, but I think Rage wins if you can get a spellweaving artifact and Teleport onto an enemy hero, guardian angel (affects your whole unit), rage (affects your whole unit), and then cleave, you will kill anything before Guardian Angel is over and Rage/Cleave are done. If you ported early there should be plenty of enemies around you. I like to port to the archer group closes to the enemy hero.

Yes, there is no reason to be Christian unless you want an all cavalry army, it will work fine in end game, but you will lose troops to archers and magic.
